Parking up and staying legal in Swansea

Seafront car parks can be busy on sunny weekends and may have height barriers or overnight bans. Gower has limited roadside space, so plan ahead and use campsites for overnight stays.

In Wales, wild camping is generally not allowed without the landowner’s permission, and overnight stays on roadsides and in car parks are often restricted by signs or local rules. Use campsites, farm stopovers or pubs that welcome vans, and follow the Countryside Code, which applies in England and Wales.

Read the Countryside Code. Always leave places as you found them, be considerate to residents, and see our Community Guidelines and Safety Tips.
