Community Guidelines
VanDates works because people treat each other the way good neighbours do on a quiet campsite. These guidelines apply everywhere on VanDates: profiles, messages, meetups and anything you post.

Breaking these guidelines can lead to content being removed, a warning, suspension or a permanent ban. Serious or illegal behaviour is reported to the police. If you see something that breaks these rules, please report it.
1. Be yourself
- Use real, recent photos of you. No group shots as your main photo, no celebrities and no filters that change who you are.
- Be honest about your age and what you are looking for.
- One person, one account. Do not pretend to be someone else.
2. Be respectful
- No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation.
- No hate or discrimination based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age or any other part of who someone is.
- No means no. If someone does not reply, unmatches or says they are not interested, leave it there.
3. Keep it consensual
- Never send sexual images or explicit messages to anyone who has not clearly asked for them. Sending unsolicited sexual images (cyberflashing) is a criminal offence in England and Wales.
- No nudity or sexual content on profiles, in meetups or in any public area.
- Never share intimate images of anyone without their consent. It is a crime, and we will report it.
4. Protect each other’s privacy and safety
- Do not share another member’s location, pitch, vehicle registration or personal details without their permission.
- Do not post photos of other people without their agreement.
- Do not encourage anyone to do anything dangerous or illegal.
5. No scams, selling or spam
- Never ask another member for money, gifts, bank details or crypto, for any reason.
- No selling, advertising, recruiting or promoting businesses unless we have agreed to it.
- No fake accounts, bots or copy-and-paste mass messages.
If anyone asks you for money, report them straight away.
6. Nothing illegal, and nothing involving under-18s
Do not post, share or arrange anything illegal. We have zero tolerance for any content or behaviour involving anyone under 18. Accounts are removed immediately and reported to the police and the relevant authorities.
7. Respect the places we park
- Leave no trace. Take your rubbish with you and empty waste only at proper disposal points.
- Respect local residents, landowners and parking rules.
- Think twice before sharing quiet spots publicly. Keep them special by keeping them quiet.
8. Hosting meetups
- Describe your meetup accurately, including where it is and who it is for.
- Choose public, easy-to-find meeting points for first meetups.
- Women-only meetups are for women only. Please respect that.
- If something goes wrong, report it and look after the people there.
9. Meetup reviews
After a meetup you joined through a plan, you and the people you met can each leave a green, amber or red review within 14 days. Reviews stay hidden until both of you have left one, or the 14 days are up. They then appear in full on your profiles, and anyone can reply once, publicly, to a review about them.
Keep reviews honest and about the meetup. Amber and red reviews need a short reason. We remove reviews that include abuse, threats, discrimination, sexual content, someone’s personal details (like their exact pitch, number plate or phone number), or things that didn’t happen at the meetup. Leaving a false review to hurt someone breaks these guidelines and can get your account removed.
If something made you feel unsafe, say so in the review and our team will look at it. If anyone is in danger, call 999.
10. What happens if the guidelines are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, send a warning, restrict features, suspend an account or ban someone permanently. Serious breaches, such as threats, sexual offences, scams or anything involving children, lead to an immediate ban and a report to the police.
If you think we have made the wrong decision about your account, you can appeal. Our Reporting & Complaints page explains how.
