Van life guide: Wales
Van Life on Anglesey: Best Spots, Meetups & Where to Park
Meet fellow van lifers, join meetups and convoys, or meet someone special on Anglesey. Anglesey, Ynys Môn in Welsh, is an island of golden beaches, sea cliffs and quiet lanes, joined to the mainland by the Menai bridges.
The van life scene on Anglesey
Most of the coast is a National Landscape, and the Anglesey Coastal Path circles the island. Inland it is gently rolling farmland, with Holy Island at the western tip.
If you are staying on Anglesey, it is simple to meet people when you plan a convoy route with fellow van lifers. Just across the Menai Strait, Eryri (Snowdonia) and the Llŷn Peninsula are easy to add to a trip.
Meeting people on Anglesey
Start with a coffee somewhere public and busy, tell a friend where you are going, and keep your exact pitch to yourself until you trust someone. With VanDates you choose what you are open to, whether that is friendship, convoys or romance, and you only ever show an approximate area.

Parking up and staying legal on Anglesey
Anglesey’s beaches and cliff car parks often have height barriers and no-overnight rules, and some charge. Use a campsite or ask a pub or farm before you stay, and check signs.
In Wales, wild camping is generally not allowed without the landowner’s permission, and overnight stays on roadsides and in car parks are often restricted by signs or local rules. Use campsites, farm stopovers or pubs that welcome vans, and follow the Countryside Code, which applies in England and Wales.
Read the Countryside Code. Please leave places as you found them, be considerate to residents, and see our Community Guidelines and Safety Tips.
